Area Information
Kalispell,
Montana was named
by ‘Mountain Sports and Living’ magazine as “The
Best Mountain Town in America.” But, Kalispell is only
one part of this beautiful area known as the Flathead Valley.
The Flathead Valley is made up of several communities, which
include Whitefish, Bigfork, Lakeside, Columbia Falls, and the
Glacier Corridor.
Outdoor recreation and breathtaking scenery are
abundant throughout the Flathead Valley. From Whitefish, to the
north, to Lakeside, to the south, there are over 4200 acres of
skiing available. There are numerous lakes which offer any number
of water sport opportunities, whether you are looking for fishing,
boating, swimming, water skiing, scuba diving, white water rafting,
canoeing, or fantastic sailing. Flathead Lake is the largest
natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi River. It offers
more than 124 miles of shoreline lined with beautiful waterfront
homes, restaurants and public access. In the summer months, many
regattas are hosted here.
The Flathead Valley is surrounded by National and State forest
land, which offers some of the best hunting and fishing opportunities
in the world. Montana is one of the last best places to view
and hunt trophy wildlife. We have it all: birds, deer, antelope,
elk, moose, black bear, brown bears, mountain lions, and bighorn
sheep. There are numerous mountain lakes, rivers and streams
just waiting for you. Fly fishing classes are held for free during
the summer months! Ice fishing during the winter months is available
on many of the lakes - for you hard core enthusiasts!

And, let’s not forget the opportunities
to golf! We have numerous championship 18 hole golf courses.
Golf tournaments are held throughout the summer months on a
variety of courses. With our summer hours of light extending
the ability to golf until 11:00 p.m., you will have plenty
of time to sample them all! Beginners and experts will be able
to find a course equal to their ability.

Glacier
National Park is just northeast of the valley. It offers over
one million acres of scenic beauty for your enjoyment and photograph
opportunities too numerous to capture. There are hiking trails,
biking trails, kayaking in pristine lakes, horseback riding,
skiing, snowmobile trails, etc. These opportunities to enjoy
this historic National Park exist year round.
